- AnandTech is a well-designed page with reviews of hardware and tips on what's the best. He makes a lot of updates to his site and provides detailed information on new topics.
- Tom's Hardware Guide has a lot of comprehensive hardware reviews, information, news, and many other great sources of information that will be helpful for most users. It is written toward a more advanced audience than mine is though.
- The HardWare Group is an email list-serve that hosts a large discussion on hardware. Don't subscribe to it if you can't handle 100+ emails per day though. The site also hosts reviews of hardware products and other information.
- The Morons' Guide To PCs is another good site for amateurs.
- Case Mod Zen (aka WickedCases.com) has pics of some odd and extravagant cases, not to mention tutorials for making case modifications.
- SharkyExtreme is a great site for hardware reviews and other discussions.
- Thresh's Firing Squad is one of the best sites for PC Hardware reviews.
- Andy Drake's BXBoards is a site with some really great reviews and discussions, particularly on motherboards.

- System Optimization Information is a great page with information on a wide variety of computer topics. Examples are benchmark surveys, performance tweaks, overclocking information, FAQs, etc.
- Pure Performance is a great site for tweaking your computer for optimal performance using various operating systems.
- PC Guide has a very specific part-by-part description of computer hardware components. It gets VERY detailed an contains more information than most users would need. It also gets into troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
- PC Mechanic is a great resource for building a PC, asking troubleshooting questions, and a good number of hardware reviews.
- 3D Files is a site that has a great collection of just that; files for anything to do with 3D graphics from drivers to screensavers.
- My Super PC is another site with recommendations on "How to build an affordable, quality, fast PC!"
- Insider PC Secrets has all kinds of PC Speed Tweaks and Tips.
- PCWatch is a daily updated computer news source. In addition to keeping you up-to-date, it includes links to many other resources.
- Hardware World consists mostly of computer hardware reviews, in addition to news and some general information. The reviews are thorough, but not many benchmark scores are reported.
- The Processor Emporium is mostly CPU related information and includes discussions on the various types of CPUs.
- Computer Heaven also offers a large collection of hardware-related information. It has categorized part descriptions and reviews.
- Computer Brand Reviews is a great site for anything PC Hardware related.
- PC Hardware Links is just what the name implies and more. It also contains helpful CPU charts of multipliers and bus speeds to achieve particular CPU speeds, as well as other CPU information.
- Tweakit Hardware Reference Site has long been a valuable resource for computer users. It has reviews, news, and overclocking/tweaking information.
- The Red Hill Guide to Computer Hardware is a well-written guide to that topic. It doesn't discuss all types of computer hardware, but some are discussed very well, along with a little bit of computer history.
- Thermalnet.com contains hardware reviews and a major emphasis on the art of cooling. Cooling devices are reviewed and methods are discussed.
- The Fast Graphics Site has many reviews as well as other general hardware information, including overclocking and video card overclocking.
- Active Hardware is a PC hardware site with some good reviews and optimization guides, as well as a collection of drivers.
- PC Computer Notes can help you prepare for A+ exams.
- Matrox Users Resource Centre is a video card specific site, focusing primarily on Matrox's products. It is independent of Matrox though and has an email discussion group (that I am a member of) on video card products (primarily). This is a great source for G200 information.
- Jeff's PC Hardware Review contains some in-depth CPU comparisons among the Pentium II family (scalability in Riva and VooDoo2 boards). Some products are reviewed and a step-by-step overclocking guide is present (though somewhat out of date).
- Maximum Hardware includes information on how to enhance your computer, including overclocking. Also, software (game) reviews, benchmark surveys, and motherboard information are present.
- CPU Madness consists mostly of articles concerning CPUs and their development. In contrast to The Brotherhood of the CPU, it focuses mostly on Intel chips.
- Upgrade Center is a little out of date, but it does contain some useful reviews and articles.
- PC-Disk is a site that includes descriptions of about 5100 old and new hard drives including jumper settings and layouts.
- The most insane cooling solution I have ever seen - Dr. Freeze. Somehow, it works...
- GameCenter has a hardware site now too.
- 1st Class Computers - Your online source for computers, computer software and computer accessories!
- Overclockin.com has tips and information for Intel and AMD processors, video cards, and more.
Hardware Shopping Assistance:
- Pricewatch is probably the best source for finding the lowest prices on the Internet on computer hardware (and software).
- Similar price checking sites are Shopper.com, Street Prices, and NetBuyer listed in order of my preference. NetBuyer is hard to get to their price lists, but once you do so, it has an option to "compare" the products that you have selected which can be very helpful.
- A newer addition is PriceGrabber. This site shows all the *incredible deals* when they occasionally show up.
