Purposes of This Site:
- To help make purchasing decisions that will allow you to get the best hardware possible for your money.
- To inform those who would like to learn more about computer hardware and how it all works together.
- To help others in getting the most out of their computer and assist in making upgrades easy.
Where are the Numbers (Benchmarks)?
- I use benchmarks to test components, but I don't publish them. Why? Because I'm using a different method than other PC Hardware sites. Intead of just giving you numbers to wade through, I simply say what's the best. This simplifies everything for me and you. Sure, you have to take my word for it, but who's to say that other sites have valid benchmarks anyway? :)
My Web Sites:
This page is here to describe myself, my experience, and my other web sites. I have a degree in Elementary Education and a degree in Computer Science. When I was in education, I developed a web site that has become very popular called The Lesson Plans Page. That site, this site, and all my other sites are held under my company, EdScope, L.L.C. Visit our company page for more information on all our sites. The Lesson Plans Page contains a large collection of lesson plans useful for anyone in education. I am also the coowner of EduBanners.com - a banner exchange program exclusively for educational websites. For fun, I developed a Computer Games Page with cheat codes, etc. for PC games (this is now out of date). You can also visit my Home Page.
It has some information about me in an informal resume format. I developed this web site as one that would be more relevant to my current major. My resume is also on the Internet. My first degree was in Education, so I am naturally inclined to educate. One goal of this site is to teach users about computer hardware.
This site is owned and operated by EdScope, L.L.C., which also owns the other sites listed above. EduScope is an educational company providing free information, goods, and services to the educational community or for educational use.
Me and my Hardware experience:
I build computers for people in Columbia, Missouri as a hobby (not as a business). Through this I have learned a great deal about hardware. Of course, I started out building my own computers. I am a member of "The Hardware Group," which is where I have gained a large part of my knowledge. It is an e-mail list-serve where we discuss computer hardware, what's new, what's coming out, what's the best, best configurations, etc. We also post benchmarks and do hardware reviews. If you have a strong interest in hardware and can handle one hundred plus emails per day, feel free to join. I have also followed Tom's Hardware Page and AnandTech for quite some time. I advise anyone interested in computer hardware to look into those sites.
